It's been a while since we aired our views on this.  I read today that another part of Hilary Mantel's trilogy on Cromwell is soon to be filmed/broadcast, and that there have been some changes to history being introduced by including non-white actors.

The usual comments naturally abound on both sides of the argument.

But I want to know about why someone hasn't made a remake of the biopic The Jolson Story, since the original had many inaccuracies.  I think it would be a lovely parody if they cast a black actor in the leading role.

It's idiotic.
History is history
The Tudors were white .

Raven

Of course they were white, so sick of all the people playing at being offended by our history, and everything else.

Being offended is a choice we make. It's not a condition imposed or inflicted on us by someone or something else.  :boo:

I do not watch any programe that introduces a colour that couldn't possibly have been there..

I am looking forward to seeing the second series of Wolf Hall. Damien Lewis.. Tonight.
The first series was brilliant..

I can understand the argument that in this day and age, we're supposed to be "colour" blind.  The trouble with that though is surely that it wouldn't matter a jot if only white actors were used 🤷🏻♂️

And what about us?
We don't agree with all those mixed marriages either.
