The last unannounced find behind the recycling bin was delivered by RM and they won't let you pick there as a safe location. It had been there several days.
Yes, Royal Mail is another one which is becoming less reliable.
We use Amazon for many, if not most things, and they are usually very reliable and quick to deliver.
However, I have noticed on one or two occasions they have themselves used Herpes and also Royal Mail.
I think it would be helpful if they told us which courier they are going to use when you are actually ordering.

Amazon isn't only Amazon it is bunch of shops using the Amazon Infrastructure. Some go the whole hog and have Amazon hold stock in their warehouses and use their delivery. Others pick and mix on which bits they will use and that may just be the website. If you check Prime and get it tomorrow it will usually be Amazon delivery but I've also had Royal Mail doing that. There seem to be two parcel services. One the postie bring and another that comes in a little van here

I requested a change on RM tracking for something due today to be delivered tomorrow instead. It was acknowledged. I'll see how that works out.

Yes, you're right.  We pay for prime, mainly because we use Amazon for many things and appreciate a quick and reliable delivery (although on odd occasions we have been disappointed), but also in order to use Prime on the telly.

It was a courier from Amazon that hit the dog I said about earlier.

Apparently he just laughed and walked off when the owner shouted at him.

I saw a delivery man with a parcel opening the lids of rubbish bins in a front garden. I could see the wheels going round.

On a lighter note, my wife sends so much back that she gets from Amazon, I just ask the courier to wait these days.

i wanted to dye something a bit darker. the list said special functions over 35% polypropylene. the special function mention in the directions was it wouldn't work and to use the synthetic version not this general purpose version.

return. order synthetic version.

synthetic version arrives. directions boil up for an hour on the stove in 3 gallons of water in a stainless steel saucepan. no mention that a commercial kitchen would be required in the listing

return. decided i like the colour after all.

well it worked. sort of. it got to about 6 and i needed some bits from the supermarket so i went out. not long back at just gone 7:00pm it arrived. it was the van lady who has delivered before but not normally this late. i had looked at the tracking earlier and it was pretty non commital - just said prepared for redelivery when it hadn't been delivered at all. looking now that was changed to being delivered today but that wasn't til about 2:00pm.

Latest one not doing so well. Annoying as I want to go out but as the last one came at 7pm I'm reluctant.

Ready for Delivery
We normally expect to deliver to your address between 9:14am - 1:14pm
Your Item was received by Northampton St James Mill DO on 18-09-2024 and is now due for delivery today.
Update delivery options
We'll attempt delivery today unless we have alternative service arrangements with you, e.g. Keepsafe or Redirection. If a delivery timeframe is shown please be aware this is a delivery aim, not a guarantee.

They charge more and more for a worse service. Do they expect people to stay in all day? If they can't give a reliable clue when something is going to arrive they aren't fit for purpose.

I have noticed that Amazon deliver some orders to our local Co-op..
That is very handy.. At least they can't say that goods have been delivered when they have not.. delivered to the wrong address.. or chucked behind some wheelie bin..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

They do that here too, Scrumpy,  and being as the Co-op is near to me, I have found it handy.
It usually  lessens the delivery charge that way, too.

If I want to be out I get my Amazon stuff delivered to the Post Office up the road. They are open til 8:00. There are lockers too but they are further.

The Royal Mail delivery arrived about 5:30. It fitted through the letterbox which I hadn't expected.
