Leeds Trip

Alex

I went to Leeds today and I could have been in Lagos.  It's almost 20 years since I was last there and to me, it's unrecognisable.  Some great looking buildings have shot up and there are plenty of posh shops, but the amount of foreigners has dramatically increased.  There were always black and brown people there, but today it was noticeable, as were some tents set up on grassed areas.

There was a protest march which passed us by, as far as we could see there wasn't any trouble.  Just   ordinary men and women making themselves heard.  These people didn't appear to be extremists or thugs as Yvette Cooper has called them.

We had two stops at motorway services, one on the way a second on the way back.  Coach after coach of black young men getting off, to get drinks I assume.  This happened both times we stopped but I have no idea where they were being taken to, perhaps "Ange" is already making councils accept their quota ?  I enjoyed the day and we had a nice lunch but it was certainly an eye opener.

Interesting, Alex.

I have been to Leeds many times, certainly when we lived in Bradford as it was the nearest civilised city! 🤣
At one time I used to go across every Wednesday to hear an organ recital in the Town Hall, taking half a day off as annual leave.  That historic organ is currently undergoing restoration and expansion, and I look to travel a good deal further from here to hear it once again... and again, and again......!

It was only a couple of months ago when we last went to Leeds (for quite different reasons) and to be honest I found it very similar to how it was those many years ago.  Very busy traffic-wise, of course, but we didn't notice anything like illegals setting up tents!  Compared to some adjacent towns and cities (Bradford!) I saw it, and still see it, as a civilised and attractive city - unless, of course, something has changed more recently.
Actually, I suppose I shouldn't be at all surprised if it has, because the whole country is clearly sinking.

As for 'black and brown' men, my own experience of black men especially has been that they are not unduly dangerous or worrying, at least most of them.  Brown men too, in many cases and I do know several brown and black people, some of which are civilised professional people.
On the other hand, it is clearly obvious beyond any doubt that the numbers of the 'wrong uns' are now increasing exponentially.
In any event, I'd be surprised if Leeds especially is one of the worst affected.

I must take another trip before long just to see!  🤣

My friend suggested because it was Saturday, more citizens out and about  I can't see that myself.  We had a stroll around Kirkgate Market, that was very interesting with vegetables and fruit 🍑 we couldn't recognise, all very colourful.  As I said it's 20 years since I was last there, that's why it was so noticeable for me.

It's not often I go into my own town centre. Last time I did I noticed more black/brown faces. I even commented on it here.

Quote from: klondike on June 15, 2024, 11:50:28 AMThe town centre here seemed to be full of drunks and Eastern Europeans. When I went through town the other day though there were a large number of young brown faces which I've never seen before. No idea where they came from but I suspect we now have a migrant hotel.

Alex, you are right, when I visited the UK last time I, too, was astonished about the big number of coloured people there. However, even in our small town the number of coloured people has increased in the last few years. So far we are living together peacefully.

I'm pleased to hear that, although I have heard that you have had even more immigrants recently than we have.

Things are, I think, less happy here although not in our local area thankfully.  You may have seen reports in the news about anti-Jewish parades and protests in London and also riots in several other cities.  These have now begun to involve white British people rioting no doubt because they see the police and the government taking the side of muslim protesters against us indigenous white British.  Yes, things predictably are beginning to set off now and I'm surprised that the government have not foreseen this as a consequence of their intentions.

This is probably the key.

I doubt that the people you see are the same sort of people that illegally cross borders and amass in big cities. I have no idea what level of legal migration you have in Germany but all of mainland Europe has seen the tide of illegal migrants crossing the Mediterranean from North Africa along with those taking land routes from the east. Your open borders in the EU leads to many arriving in France then trying to get here but we see only a tiny fraction of those Europe is lumbered with. At least until Starmer signs us up to take a quota of the multitude so we can send a few back to France.

I think the best solution for us all is for us in the UK and the EU countries all to work together to prevent this ongoing serious incursion.
Unfortunately, the EU Council seems unwilling to work with us and, of course, our new Labour government is unlikely to do anything productive and also appears to want to hand our country over to the EU again.
Unless the whole of Europe (and the UK) can work together to stop and reverse this effective invasion, I feel that we are doomed!

You are right,  but it's not as easy as we think. Lately I researched a bit on the internet in this respect. Take for instance Ireland and the UK - many migrants from the Uk fled to Ireland when Sunak announced his Rwanda plans, Ireland sent them back because the UK is no "dangerous" country for them - Sunak told the Irish government that he will only take them back if he is allowed to send his migrants back to France .........
I suppose before the Brexit the whole issue was a bit easier for both countries.
Here in Europe we finally found a solution, but no one knows whether it will actually work or not. Time will show us.

It was easier mostly because there weren't so many back then.
