Classic Coronation Street

This is a re-showing of Coronation Street episodes from a few years ago when the series was not only highly entertaining but also frequently exciting.
Or I should say 'was'.

We have just watched the ones on today where Tracy sold her baby to the Croppers for thousands of pounds, and now she wants it back, just as Steve (the father) is getting married to another bint.

And now it seems that ITV are not going to show any more!

Naturally, my memory, being rather crap, prevents me from knowing what happened next, but Marge seems to have some idea.  Not the same as watching it, of course.

Why cancel something which works well?

Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen?

I'm sure it must have more followers than the present-day version.  Certainly, when I used to watch that it was eminently clear that they had run out of ideas.  Rather repetitively boring.

Surely, if there is a good audience for that far superior version, which does have some quite exciting storylines, in ditching it ITV are losing viewers and consequently advertising revenue.
