I called in my local garden centre for some small pots yesterday,  and I couldn't believe it  -  they were only setting up all their Christmas stuff already.    It's  flippin'   August still!

I said to one of the men there,  that  seeing that  all set up for the next 4 months,  we'll all be fed up to the teeth with Christmas by November.

It's too early I think,  especially when we are still having hot, sunny weather.  I just can't think that way yet.
Surely late September/early October is plenty early enough?   Crazy.

Do you mind having Christmas stuffed in your face four months in advance?

Or do you think its a good idea?

I hate it and when they start playing Christmas Music it makes me want to scream. We've got blooming Halloween to get through first. I think the end of November is plenty of time to get in the Christmas mood.

Easter, Back to School, Halloween/Bonfire Night, Christmas. All mean loads of display space used ages early. In Lidl that means fewer far more interesting tools on display which I always peruse and sometimes even buy.

I remember a pick axe in Aldi years back. Hardly an impulse buy and if I needed one I wouldn't be traipsing to Aldi to get one. Haven't seen one since so I can only guess it was a predictable flop and maybe the loony buyer got the sack.

I think there will be leaf vacuums in Lidl soon. Very handy as the last one from Lidl was a free loan item - it packed up inside the year and I recently got a refund. Must see if they have another one that I can return next year. Much cheaper than buying a posh one.

I have started buying Christmas presents for my family..
Much easier for me to do it a bit at a time..

I think it is a bit too early for seeing Christmas stuff in the stores..
But I guess they have to start early to make a profit .. It is hard out there for our shops being in competition with online buying.. I feel sorry for them..
Many are closing...
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Yes,  but the thing is Scrumps,  those of us who still want gardening stuff now can't get it now they are packing it all away.

I always pot up some winter bulbs, Hyacinths, Daffs, Amaryllis,  for little gifts for example.   They will be selling the bulbs,  but all the pots and compost has disappeared.  How daft is that!

Costco's were selling Xmas Decs last week

Amazon don't pack it all away. One reason they go from strength to strength as bricks and mortar shops fail and go bust.

Years back if I wanted some obscure item I'd know which shop or market stall to go to get it. These days I'd have no clue where I could buy many things in town but I know where I can order one that will turn up tomorrow.

I suspect that, given the way the country seems to be heading, you might regret not buying it.  In fact, if Lidl gets hold of a few pallets of them, they'll make a profit quite easily.
