Where do solar panels go ?

When they're no longer of use, what happens to solar panels ?  Do they go to land fill sites ?  I've read somewhere that the old panels are quite toxic and contain heavy metals.  I don't know anything about them, but will they be the toxic waste of the future ?

Google says they can be recycled but I'm getting ever more sceptical that any adverse comment on the Net Zero cause gets suppressed. Initially when I heard mention of greenhouse gasses it seemed to be common sense but I've since come to believe that things are far more complex than simple common sense.
