Yes i like watching talking pictures .and being as many films are in old black and white i still like the old fashioned stories , of course some films are boring but on occasions i find a good one, and in these films i see and am reminded of the past when seeing the odd type of cars , horse troughs, and even roads without the yellow  lines, even car seat belts weren't introduced then, and many   of  the famous red telephone boxes which in the past dominated all main roads ,and even some side roads ,not many car parks in many of the films ,

seeing the back ground in these films was a reminder of the almost long forgotten past the way things were then,  including the customary politeness in good manners, so yes i love these films and for a while i escape back to the past, be it for an hour or so,

Q; do you like the old films or do you prefer the more modern ones , as usual your thoughts will make interesting reading,

Michael Rolls

I'm eclectic - a couple of my favourite films are real oldies - Casablanca and Gone With the Wind, both of which I have watched many times. Some more favourites are surprisingly old when I think about, but don't seem 'old' to me - The Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape, the Dollars trilogy, Sean Connery as Bond and the like. Of modern films I can't think of any less than, say 5 years old that I would watch time and again, but as time goes by - who knows?
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

I enjoy Talking Pictures especially when they run the old Hammer Horror Movies. :yay:
Watched a Just William Movie the other day, really enjoyed it.

I loved the Just William books and had forgotten that it had been on TV. I thought I check the Emporium for nostalga's sake and only the books are listed. I shall now cry and cry until I make myself sick.

They often repeat things on that channel, :upvote:  I always buy the TV Guide so I'll keep an eye out for it and let you know if it comes on again.

Flying Bomb

A wonderful channel...... cars with chrome bumpers. Pretty  ladies hairstyles of the past and dreses. No yellow lines in the streets. All men wearing ties.
All white people in films.  Nostalgia on every program.
The only channel that caters for OAP's.

I refused to pay the BBC for a licence so I'm limited to catch up and downloads but thanks anyway.

Found a load of them on DailyMotion. The video quality isn't great but probably better than the original TV broadcast pictures were for many.
