protecting our teeth,

A favourite for many in the past but are toffee apples  becoming  serious problem as the teeth pay the ultimate price , and many years later false teeth or implants replace  the ones that nature gave us in the beginning,

the cost of these things isn't cheap how ever many people are and go for teeth whitening  (ie) a sort of bleaching the teeth so  is this a good thing as teeth usually are ivory colored. not bleach white  so i suppose with the teeth brightened a person would be careful what they ate incase the teeth got stained ,


Q;  have you any thoughts when it comes to the crunch  as we check on how many teeth we might or have already lost  and could or should we protect childrens teeth before they reach old age,

I think children are far more caring about their teeth than ever we were as young adults..
They floss.. have electric toothbrushes and mouth wash.. 
They wear braces to perfect their teeth and visit the dentist regularly.. 
I still have dentist check ups.. I do not have dentures..
 And I was brought up on Gibbs tooth powder.. We all dipped our toothbrushes into the same powder.. And none of our teeth fell out.. We had. 'Killer' of a school dentist..

I hated the dentist as a child and remember well the smell of rubber as the mask was forced on my face.  Consequently my teeth have been a problem my whole life.   I do have a denture, a partial they call it

I'm convinced that my school dentist was a wrong 'un. If they were paid piecework it's a certainty. Everybody that went to the one I did came out with a filling. By the time I reached the age I stopped going there I had a mouthful of them. Then oddly the need for more just seemed to stop.
 
Looking back he was certainly a sadist. The drill was a monstrous thing of wheels and belts and instead of getting on with the job he always asked if you wanted the drill fast or slow. Everybody picked slow I think. I did. It was an unpleasant jarring experience. Modern dental drills are super fast and there must be a reason for that.

Same here, I developed almost a phobia of dentists. The last extractions I had, I paid for deep sedation. Miraculous.
