Are there any women left who can as they did in the past boast of an 18inch waist.
when looking at Edwardian or Victorian photos there were pictures of ladies with such a waist ,line as then i think whale bone was used to enhance a ladies figure and later came the corset , or was it the other way around?

for the ladies wearing these garments in those times it must have been virtual torture as they paraded themselves showing off their figures , of course today i don't suppose any of these garments are worn, especially when seeing ladies or young women walking down the high street  ,

for example seeing old photo's of lily Langtree strapped up and i often wonder if what damage she  must have done to her  waistline as a result of being i suppose strapped, up for so long, as   the pressure on her waist have been tremendous,

seeing beautiful women, who to my mind must have nearly tortured them selves dressing up  displaying  their beautiful figures i assume to catch a very rich man or wealthy man ,giving them security for the rest of their lives,

Q; i don't suppose for a minute that the return of the corset will make a return as today its a very different world where as tattoos are the fashion,

have you any thoughts on 18inch waists , and is it a good or bad thing to have one,??

Can't be healthy as I doubt there are any natural 18" waists on normal height range women. I wonder if the fashion was pushed by women or by men as I can't say that something so far from the norm would be attractive to me.

I had an 18" waist when I was young.  Even after two children it was about 20".  I wouldn't care to measure it now!

Waist ?  I used to have one.  I blame the menopause for its disappearance, I've never been right since
