Some speculation I saw on Quora that Russia may be considering an attack on Lithuania (a NATO member) who recently announced a partial blockade of Russian Kaliningrad.

Very interesting.. The man is capable of anything..
But will the Russian people allow it.. !! I believe they are now seeing and believing things that they never saw before..
UP THE REVOLUTION.     :yahoo:
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I'm not sure what the Russian people actually see. All media is strictly state controlled. Possibly they aren't as sceptical of their state broadcasters (all they get to see) as we have become of the BBC. They can maybe believe six impossible things before breakfast.

What I don't understand is why Boris is taking the lead with funding, arms, etc for Ukraine.  They want to join the EU, surely it's down to the the EU to be at the forefront of supporting them  ?  :hmm:  :hmm:

klondike

Lots of EU countries get their gas from Russia so they aren't keen. As I see it if Putin is allowed to get away with Ukraine he won't stop there. Better to help Ukraine now than get dragged in ourselves later when he decides to have a go at a NATO country.

Alex

We'll be first to get hit I believe  ?

Jacqueline

I am sure you are right Alex, we have put ourselves in the limelight with Boris' visits to Ukraine.

Alex

They've just blown up a shopping centre with possibly 1,000 people inside.  There's just no stopping this man, how long does everyone sit back and watch  ?

I think everyone is wary of starting WW3 if they intervene.

klondike

If it comes to WW3 which I doubt I hope the epicentre of the first bomb is right over my house. Being a survivor would be no fun at all but I'm pretty confident that it won't come to that.

Given the state of much of the Russian army and navy kit would their nukes even actually work. Their aircraft carrier has to be moved around with tug boats. Gives a new meaning to Russian Roulette.

Raven

I really hope your right klondike. [1060]

hugh

Looks like NATO now preparing for war, but hoping by giving Ukraine the latest weapons they will defeat Russia. Russia blockade on grain will have to be removed.

In response I profess that whatever Zalensky says we in the West believe it? Can you imagine a Jury instructed to make a decision on your life, yet only hearing the Prosecution case? We have become deaf to reasoned analysis. We only get the propaganda of fear as a result, like Brexit and Covid yet again funding unbalanced reasoning.

Meanwhile 'Blowbag Boris' and his warmonger general blag away and actively incite war in Europe. The latter 'Sanders' is every bit as bad as the Ukranian president in conflating conflict, but cynically so, as it cranks up his budget.

Presently the UK is down to it's bottom drawer strategic reserve on many weapons that we have 'given' to Valensky. These are expensive to replace and in today's broken world impossible presently to gather.

Irresponsible actions endangering our National Security by a sub standard Premier, dictating what we are allowed to hear.
