Scrumpy

There was, at one time, a beautiful blossom tree in the grounds of the school opposite me..
Every year we watched it flower in all it's glory.. When talking to my daughter I would mention that the tree is in bud..flowering.. She was beautiful..
I say 'was'  because she has sadly been chopped down.. and replaced by (little) privet hedges..
Safety reasons..!!!  Should a child slip up on a blossom..!!
In all my years there never was such an incident..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Did they used to clear up the fallen blossom?

I only ask because I suspect somebody didn't like it rather than it was considered to be a health and safety risk.

Alex

Prince Charles wouldn't have allowed that

The blossom fell on the grass in the school grounds and on a public pavement beyond the school borders... One day it was there.. then it was gone..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Bastards.. They shouldn't be chopping trees down at all.

It is sad to see what was a lovely school become all railings and security gates.. Like a prison..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

An unfortunate sign of the times but I can't imagine that joyful morning chatter and laughter of the little ones will be much changed.

hugh

A lot of councils have cut down horse chestnut trees saying they are dangerous.
