We're catching up with Doc Martin. We stayed in Port Isaac before it became Port Wenn for the series, beautiful area.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

saw one of the John Wick films last night - takes ridiculous to new heights (depths?) lost count of the number of bodies, all shot by the 'hero' who survives being shot in the body time after time because his Saville Row suit has a bullet proof lining? So why did nobody aim at his head or legs? Won't bother to track down the rest of the francise!

Sat and watched "The Dam Busters" last night. Still an old favourite of mine, even after all these years.

I seem to be watching older stuff myself now. Disconcerting that the entire cast of most that I watch are pushing up the daises.

I see that Zoonies is now stocking better quality versions. Must give it a go to get a change from the oldies.

Stike that. Hard coded Korean subtitles. I'll wait.

I've been watching 'Dhamer' on Netflix, the true story of Jeffrey Dhamer an American serial killer.  It's disturbing, but keeps you watching as it's made as a drama rather than a documentary.  The lead actor Evan Peters is brilliant playing Dhamer.  Not for the faint hearted.

Picked up a Metro on the bus yesterday and saw an advert for something on Sky which I've downloaded and will be watching.

Midwich Cuckoos. This was a book by a science fiction author I enjoyed from my early teens on - John Wyndham. There have been countless adaptations of his stories for the screen with the one probably best known being Day of the Triffids. Keeley Hawes is in it but I don't know if she has a leading role or was put in as a well known name in a bit part. It's a 7 parter and I have no idea how quickly I'll watch it but if it's a stinker I'll update this soon enough as I'm about to give part 1 a go.

Looks promising after a slowish start where a fairly big cast made a showing.

Finishished watching The Midwich Cuckoos and it is worth a watch imo. 6 parts on Sky although I got mine from Zoony's of course.

Have you noticed they have rewritten history? Guy Gibson's dog is now Trigger, not Nigger which was the dog's name. The callsign for one of the dams being burst was also Nigger changed to Trigger.  I know this if an offensive word (although black people do not seem to mind calling each other by it) but it is history it happened, and you can't change the past however distasteful you might find it.

Raven

Yes Jacqueline I did notice and thought I was not hearing right. Last time I saw that film the dog was called Nigger and it was very clear.

klondike

History regularly gets revised I'm afraid.  It's the Soviet way.

I find that 'Titanic' always goes down well.

I love Detective books n films, Basil Rathbone as Sherlock was good, though I didn't start watching him untill the Freeview Channel "Talking Pictures" . I was trawling through YouTube earlier and came across a Sherlock I hadn't seen before with Basil Rathbone. It was called "The House of Fear" about a lonely old house high up on the cliffs, on the West Coast of Scotland. Fair enjoyed it. 👍👍😊😊
