Quote from: Scrumpy on September 11, 2022, 12:23:57 PMI have learned that having Catch-up .. Films.. Documentaries... is a godsend
Iin my experience, there is far more worth watching on 'catch-up' than on the live channels.
And you don't need to pay the BBC Tax!

I have learned not to get to comfortable with things, the Status Quo can change in the blink of an eye.

AND it just has. 🙄 😯 👀 😢

Quote from: Alex on September 09, 2022, 07:12:48 PMI'm only watching to see if Audrey's son pinches her money  Once that storyline is finished I'm off !

Creepy Steven! I still watch it. Dev's over acting makes me laugh, and the invisible quads suspend belief!

Ooh yes, its a Tardis! At least Corrie boosts the pensions of some aged characters, Ken, Audrey and Rita. And Roy is getting on a bit now too.

I just learned something, August bank holiday used to be at the beginning of August and campaigners got it changed to the last weekend, to extend the holiday season. I don't remember that happening from 1965 and apparently the August bank holiday fell in September twice before it was made the last Monday in August.

Today I learned that a person who studies flags is a vexillologist, one who designs flags is a vexillographer, and the art of flag-designing is called vexillography. One who is a hobbyist or general admirer of flags is a vexillophile.  And one who burns flags is called an illegal immigrant.

Today I learned that there is only one city in Buckinghamshire, its name is Milton Keynes.

klondike

I tried to find it once. Never did. Just an endless succession of roundabouts on the way too.

Ashy

Yes it's a dreadful place. I went there once, I have a vague recollection of it. What is even sadder is that I knew Bletchley, Stony Stratford and Wolverton before it happened.

Come to think of it I went to Bletchley more recently, but only train spotting.

klondike

It's only 14 miles from me. The trouble with that is that they try out all the new stuff there and then it filters to here. Recent enhancement to entertain pedestrians are bloody Voi electric scooters that zoom up behind you unheard. We also got little self driving delivery trucks pootling around. First time I saw one I thought some kid was playing with it.

Still we also got full fibre broadband which we'd never have had in this backwater if the providers weren't based there.

It is indeed darn sarf.  Anything south of Sheffield is darn sarf.
