Title: Minister of the Union
Post by: hugh on August 14, 2022, 09:50:26 AM
A role Liz Truss going to take on, if she becomes Prime Minister. Sounds to me like fighting talk, and taking power away from leaders of different parts of the United Kingdom.

The Welsh and Scottish devolved governments have created divisions that were not there before. They cost a lot of money too. Last time I saw the accounts for the local council here the councillors were paid over 1.5 million, just the councillors, not the executives and staff.

Most people I know, including Welsh speakers would like to abolish the Welsh assembly, total waste of money, heaven knows what that dreadful building in Cardiff cost to build.

I can't see anything changing tbh, even with Liz as PM

There should be a vote in Wales and Scotland if they wish to keep devolution. What Jacqueline has said, and what I have just heard on the GBNews channel it would be voted out. Scotland a vote count would be quite interesting.

Hopefully we shall have that vote and also decide if we want the mayor of greater London at the same time.
