I read this in the press.
While at an event in Washington this week, the President asked Indiana congresswoman Jackie Walorski to identify herself...
' I want to thank all of you here Representative Jim McGovern.. Senator Mike Braun, Senator Cory Booker. Representative Jackie- are you here? Where's Jackie?- I think she was going to be here.' the President said.
Sadly,Jackie could not be there as she died two months earlier in a car crash.
Biden even issued a statement at the time paying tribute to her.
Oh dear.. poor Joe.. Time to retire me thinks..
Lucky he is only a ludicrous front man and does nothing of any importance I guess. Makes you wonder just who the real president is that they have to be kept so well hidden from public view.

Whoever it is they'll have close connections with the Bilderberg Group, Gate's Foundation etc.
And they moaned about Trump ! :boo:
They piled onto President Trump accusing him of wanting to start a nuclear war. In fact he didn't start any war. How times change.
I wonder how the mid terms will go....

Well we can't say they didn't warn us. This is Klaus Schwab the founder of the World Economic Forum whose membership includes Kong Charles, Presidents Biden and Macron etc etc. The original Davos man ...

Over here unbelievably badly for the Dumbocrat Wokes, who have lassoed a lot of the media, but this country has a way of resisting it far better than the UK. The party of Kennedy has already ditched Sleepy Joe and his eldritch Vice President, Kamala Harris for a better looking class of younger liar in Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California.
Of course there's still the 'Wicked Witch of the West' Hilary Clinton
(75 this month). Frighteningly 26% want Joe, or whats left of him to stand again, an oxymoronic statement if ever there was one!

I must admit I don't keep track of American politics but I did see an be article and a picture of the dashing young chap earlier. I knew nothing about him but from the little I do know "Governor of California" probably tells me all that I need.
Do you have American citizenship Cass and if so will you be voting there.
I don't know much about US politics, I took more interest when Trump was President  but I have been reading for sometime about Ron de Santis the Governor of Florida who is also an ex Navy man. He would be like a more serious version of Trump in many ways. :upvote:

Yes my mother was American, born not far from my home now, so I've had dual nationality from the age of 9. I will be voting next month most certainly yes, but despite bring able to so do, not in the UK again.
Firstly I think its a bit of a
social distortion to vote in a Country you don't reside in, but secondly because from distaste I wouldn't, even if I did.
I agree with Cassandra.. I don't think people should be voting in a country that they no longer live in.. Don't you just love those that know how another country should be run when their own country is a shambles.. !!
A bit like our Labour Party telling our Conservative Government what they are doing wrong.. But cock it up themselves ..
I didn't vote when I lived abroad, but I know some ex-pats feel strongly about using their vote.
They also expect to receive the Winter Payment of £200. :nooo: That should be stopped if they live abroad, especially the bigger one due this year. :boo:

Surely not, it must be for UK residents only? The Gov know if we live abroad because our pensions
(quite rightly) are capped at the rate that was applicable upon departure. I never expected anything other than that paid to me presently, as I refer to above, which I consider a fair presumption of judgement all round.
Ex Pats in Spain were certainly getting the £200.
Hmmmm, went on Google and had a check. Seems not as many as before are still getting the allowance.

Ex-pats to some countries get increases while others don't I think. The problem as I see it is that recipients of a state pension who spend it in the UK pay UK taxes when spending it (VAT etc.) while any money paid to ex-pats is a total loss to the UK economy. Not sure what a fair approach would be.
Many pensioners who retire and then go to live in Europe have paid in to the UK system all their working lives, what are they to live on if not their UK pension ?. I don't think they should receive any 'extras'
That's my point Alex, they have paid for their pensions so yes of course they should have it. :upvote:
It's The Winter £200 and any other extras I object to, why should someone who's having Christmas Dinner outside in the lovely warm weather get the heating allowance. :wtf:

Years back on another forum I was on that was explained to us by an ex-pat ... apparently they need the £200 to pay for their air conditioning in summer.
It can get bloody cold in Spain too in winter, not as bad as here mind but where my friend lives in Murcia, he often has zeroº in January and February.
Some people I know ,who are pensioners, went to Australia to retire.. They are able to draw their pension but it was capped at the payout received on date of departure.. I hope I am right..

Uprating the state pension increases the payment in line with the cost of living.
Expats paid the UK state pension in one of the countries listed below to pick up the same uprating as someone receiving the pension in the UK.
Here's the list of countries where the expat state pension is uprated:
Austria Guernsey Montenegro
Barbados Hungary Netherlands
Belgium Iceland New Zealand
Bermuda Ireland Norway
Bosnia-Herzegovina Isle of Man North Macedonia
Bulgaria Israel Philippines
Canada Italy Poland
Chile Jamaica Portugal
Croatia Japan Romania
Cyprus Jersey Serbia
Czech Republic Kosovo Slovakia
Denmark Latvia Slovenia
Estonia Liechtenstein South Korea
Finland Lithuania Spain
France Luxembourg Sweden
Germany Malta Turkey
Greece Mauritius USA
Ah makes sense ... I was about to say it depended on which country you retired to and what kind of reciprocal agreement existed between the two countries.
I don't know why you get increases in some places but not others. I just knew that you did.

The Home Office, or
Immigrantion Assistance Office, told me my pension was Frozen until I returned to live in the UK permanently at the rate when I left and indeed it was not uprated this April? From what I made of Klon's very helpful post, it seems I will get it in the second year, which is logical.
However the disinterestedly rude young woman from the 'Gov'
(probably working at home, as she sounded like she was either on an exercise bike, or in the middle of an orgasm) that I spoke with, never elicited this important addendum. Thank you Mark.
