I'm going to get me a torch..
I think this is a brilliant move on my part. It will come in handy when we are left in the dark..
I will be able to find the loo and the bed.. sorted..
...  I will read a book and, when I'm bored, shine the torch on the ceiling and make patterns with my fingers..
The only problem is .. I am unsure of which one to get.. It needs to be lightweight and powerful..
Perhaps someone on here could help out please..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

If you want a powerful torch an Imalent MS18 would do the job.

I'm toying with the idea of getting one.

I remember the strikes in the 70s when I would sit in the dark with two small children.  What fun!

This is what is becoming known as fear porn. I don't know why but the powers that be ie the WEF want you to live in fear. There are always power cuts in winter, but if they cut your power you won't be able to watch the BBC fear porn will you? However every local power cut will be blown up out of proportion this winter. 120 homes were without power this morning... you'll hear it.

I rarely  worry or panic over stuff.. and I am sure that I know my house well enough to get around in the dark..
However.. It wouldn't hurt to get a torch... If I need something/someone during darkness it will come in handy..
Also good as a weapon should I be invaded by a short.. balding.. shortsighted male.. with spots.

Are you sure about that Diasi..!! The cost on Amazon ranges between 179... 529..

It'd save having to buy a paraffin stove too so knock that off the price.
Don't forget some spare batteries.
Lots of them.

Also I corrected my wording in previous comment..
'I RARELY worry or panic over stuff.'
I don't want people on here to think I'm a wuss..

I have one very similar that's rechargeable. I use it for fishing past the time I should have given up and gone home. Probably would be OK for power cuts too.

I'm not sticking anything on my head. I would feel stupid..

You'd feel more stupid skinning your shins on the furniture in the pitch dark...

A head torch is more convenient than a hand held one if you need to use your hands doing something such as fishing. You don't get the problems with shadows that you do with a lantern either as it lights up where you are looking. I've also used it when adding some extra lighting in the cellar.

Imalent do a range of LED torches but the MS18 costs around £500 as the battery alone costs in the region of £250.

An intruder wouldn't want to be staring at it for too long before they had to close their eyes & turn away, that's for sure.

All I need is a lightweight torch to read by..and pop to the loo..

Diasi.. If I had such a powerful torch the planes from Gatwick would be landing in my garden..
