Title: Loop Account
Post by: Alex on March 01, 2024, 10:11:10 AM
Does anyone have a Loop account ?
In an e-mail from Alexa it mentioned this Loop account where you can read your daily energy usage, as you could on a smart meter screen.  I just wondered how it connects to the smart meter?   I put the screen the leccy gave me in the drawer as I looked at it every time I passed.   Just curious

I installed the Hugo app which does the same thing. I never used the portable meter and don't know where it is. I may well have binned it.

I think I just gave Hugo the meter numbers and which tariff I'm on. They have access to the data feed. It's rare I bother looking.

Yes. They can get money from users signing up for voluntary electricity reductions through them rather than their energy company and I'm guessing from swaps. I've done neither. Their graphs are marginally better than the Octopus ones unless those have improved.
