I have an old Victorian wedding picture. Stern looking folk and I recognise some from other photos but have no real idea of names and relationships. If only names had been written on the backs of those photos.

Scrumpy, you may be interested in a Leslie Pearse book (I think it is called Remember Me).  It is years since I read it but I think a girl made a minor theft (she was very poor) and was deported to Australia.  I found the book, which is a novel based on fact, to be very interesting.
