Title: More Train Strikes.
Post by: Raven on November 22, 2022, 04:12:38 PM
Well I'm not surprised really, they have been screwing around over the Christmas Break for years now.
I will never set foot on a train again as I simply can't trust them not to pull the plug whenever they feel like it. Not to mention the ridiculous cost of tickets.

BBC News - More train strikes announced by rail union

I hope they can negotiate a solution to this, it's dragging on now.

It's a diminishing market, like the trans Atlantic liners in the 50's as the Boeing 707 ushered the paradigm shift of change upon Ocean travel. This time its 'stay at home' workers plus general distrust and apathy heralding the contrast of destruction compared to the past. Royalmail v Couriers are another set of workers at self induced risk. Bows and Arrows v the Gatling gun and the clockwork mind's of the Union elites are just as ideological now as they were in the early 80's in their headlong appointments with oblivion.

But you may not have noticed that the train operating companies have invested in new trains as if they might need more capacity.

That'll be them getting ready for when nobody but the elite can afford to run their own car thanks to the net zero policies.

They will also make massive gains on their 'compensatory' values in case of Re-Nationalisation or alternatively, now is the time to buy, as inflation soars. Plus always rely today on blindness to reality. GenX specialises in close up's on this skill!

To me it doesn't matter if the trains stay private or get re-nationalised as I said, I will never go on one again.
In all honesty my love of trains died with the loss of Steam Engines, Diesels are just not the same.

Diesels? Diesels? You are spoiled. Only electric ones here. I found commuting into London so stressful I gave up on contracts in London despite it meaning long drives of maybe 80miles or so to work each day and lower contract rates. You could never be sure what time you'd arrive and I was dumped out at random stations on the way home more than once. Never any rail staff or alternate transport laid on. Useless.
