Today I sorted out a new Will .. I also set up Power of Attorney.... Just in case.. Bloody costly..
I believe it is worth sorting out .. It can be a damned nuisance for anyone trying to run another's finances..

Has anyone else on here set up Power of Attorney..? 
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

My mother had a do it yourself will, worked fine. I looked into the P.O.A. But it was far to expensive. I looked on Ebay and they now do perfectly legal do it yourself ones.
Lots of people simply can't afford to pay lawyers for expensive ones.

I've done a will but no POA.   I agree it is a bit expensive .

We did our wills some years ago.  We've been talking about setting up POAs with our children, but not done it yet.  
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I just thought I would get POA over and done with.. It saves my daughter any stress.. I did haggle and managed to get a discount.. I can't be arsed looking around to see where the best (deals) are.. They are all bloody expensive..
Anyway.. I might spend as much as I can..  :yahoo:

There was a program about it on ITV Tonight called Ripping Off the Elderly where POAs were used to commit fraud.

If it is just a legal document it should surely be possible to find a proforma complete it and get in correctly witnessed and signed. That's what I did for wills. I have never used solicitors to produce probate documents or deal with land registry and I've had no issues.
