Today I've learned that the Italians aren't stupid enough to have a flotilla of rescue, boats on permanent standby, to ferry the illegals safely ashore from a few miles out, so hats off to them for leaving the illegals to take the risk.

Today I discovered that it must be acceptable for GPs to ignore a patients blood test results for 5 years. How? The useless GP practice I left after they ignored mine aren't in the list of "inadequate" or "requires improvement" ones in this story in the Express https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1740230/NHS-underperforming-gp-surgery

I'm on day two of being carless as I've loaned mine to my son, so today I realised I'm not ready to give up my car I feel lost  !  

Know how your feeling Alex, I have withdrawal symptoms if my car is in the garage for the day. 
My car is sitting at the side of the house just now, but I've not been in her since the 3rd of January, I'm getting desperate to get driving again. 

Today I noticed that the council don't rely entirely on the wind to clear the litter and leaves. They actually had a sweeping machine run along the pavement outside. It has got rid of the bulk of the leaf mulch too. Other years that has remained until it finally gets washed away by rain and pedestrians with often some still left when the leaves start falling again. Some of this year's rates increase spent on something I can see. 

Must be some elections soon that have their bums a'twichin

Watched the highlights - couldn't believe some of the dismissals! Especially Stokes (not for the first time) I mean, there's aggressive betting and then there's rank stupidity!

Shared my car with my neighbours for two weeks.. The car looked happy in their driveway.. My driveway is too cold for her.. She's an old girl..

 All good results from the doctor.. I saw a REAL doctor..

Gosh Scrumpy, that's an achievement.  I filled in a new things Patchs or something like that and am waiting for a phone call.  Fings ain't like they used to be!

I changed my doctors. Not had to try the new ones yet other than getting them to make sure I could order repeat prescriptions.

I learnt yesterday I'm still on the ball with finances. OH and I both chose new glasses  and the eye tests and service was fine, but the bill was wrong. We were putting both on one bill, the frames weren't cheap, and we had been told the extra costs of varifocals, anti glare etc.  

My calculations saved us over £70. I worked with figures a lot in my young days, and immediately realised the different amounts added up to less than their final bill.  I showed the staff member, who was confused as to why the bill  was different, but agreed with my calculations.  We could quite easily have been overcharged.

I reckon whoever prepared the bill should have gone to Specsavers school.

Well done. I always look at bills but don't recall the last error other than to say I'm certain it wasn't anywhere near £70.

Today I learned that Tesco are running half an hour late.. 
They can't blame the snow because we don't have any..
