Khan extended the Ultra Low Emissions Zone, a tax on vehicles that don't meet emissions standards, such as horse boxes, which according to official figures has made no difference to air quality.

Khan introduced low traffic neighbourhoods, I don't think anyone asked him to, which means if you drive into one of these ghettos and you don't know the way out you can drive around for a considerable time and get lost. I notice some residents have placed signs pointing to the exit in some places.

It also means we have huge buckets of weeds placed across perfectly good streets.

Perhaps the horse owners should be riding their horses through the low emissions zone instead of taking them in horse boxes. It must be said that didn't work out too well a century or so back and folks welcomed the horseless carriage which at least produces emissions you can't trip over.

Somehow I don't think the political class and career politicians are representative of their public anywhere in the world. This applies whether they are bumbling demented fossils or raving lesbians, they are all pushing some obscure minority agenda, when all we really want is free stuff.

Which type of 'public' should they represent though?  The sensible, thrifty types? The entrepreneurial people, started with nothing, but made a mint? The 'I'll just sit on my bum and claim benefits and have as many kids as I want' lot, the trade unionist type, who fights for members' rights but cares zilch for anyone else, or the Brian type. And all the other types.

Who is the man (person) in the street these days? Mondeo man, or green activist who doesn't like Mondeos, or anything much, except his/her own agenda?

Pick a representative from grass roots with lived experience, and we get Angela Rayner. I'd rather have Boris. 🤨
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I was thinking more along the political line.

Oh her. Well yes certainly two short planks could form part of the definition.

Ashy

To be fair if you nail two short planks together, you get a short plank only thicker, with nails in.
