This is NOT a pay rise it's a Lottery Win.

These top bods should lead by example, no respect for a man who takes all that extra money when everything else is falling apart, has he no shame?
So what is he being paid for.. :boo: He certainly doesn't know how to run an airport.. !!
Off with his head!
He only got what the unions want, a market rate for the job!
They must think he his worth the money and they do not want him to go to another company. The money he receives will I expect be invested which will help create jobs.

Can you explain this comment please ?
I wonder if they'd give me some to invest. I'd love to create loads of jobs. Pretty Please....
I just don't understand Hugh's comment, I wasn't being gobby !

I think what Hugh's trying to say, albeit rather unsuccessfully, is that his pay rise is an investment as the guy will suddenly make the airport much better which will create more jobs.
Pigs might fly over Birmingham then
the mind boggles

If he can get pigs to fly over Birmingham then he is worth every penny..
Because the planes aren't..
They must believe he his worth that amount of money, the going rate for the job they say. What annoys me is union bosses like Mick Lynch getting £163,468, a job for life which he will still collect while union members are on strike.

Possibly so, I was merely trying to explain what I read into Hugh's post.
The bottom line is that the airport management think he merits the rise.
And explain you did Phil, thank you I didn't get what Hugh meant.
I thought the pigs had more chance of flying than he had of making the airport much better
Mick Lynch gets more in a 'car valeting allowance' (tax free) yearly than his members would get as a nett increase weekly for striking.
He's also on a 'Final salary' pension, unheard of these days.
Total package £168k yearly.
£168K and I bet he describes himself as 'proudly working class'.
I have less of a problem with private companies who pay top bods for results, better products etc. what are his targets I wonder? A bonus for the number of strikes he can call?
