Scrumpy

To let you know that Michael died this morning..
I know receiving cards from many of you made him feel so damned special..
I knew Michael for many years and it was he that encouraged me to join P F .
PF was a place that he enjoyed visiting on a daily basis .. It gave him much pleasure.. a platform to say his bit and many headaches when he knew he was right and all others were wrong. but, more importantly it filled in the lonely gaps in his life.. As some of us know he could be a grumpy old sod..

He had a colourful life .. travelling around with guitar in hand making music..
Among my many memories of him is the sitting on my back decking .. guitar in hand... singing..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I don't know what to say, I just didn't expect that.  The card I sent just said "You've Got This "  I thought he did have it, and I'm truly shocked by this news. RIP Zoony you WILL be missed you grumpy auld git, but I hope you're strumming through the cords up there now.  x

Poor, dear Zoony sadly missed,  it's a shock to hear that he has gone from us.

If what I am told is true, he is up there somewhere reviewing his life and carrying on as he would have down here, feeling young again and playing his guitar.  That is what I am told happens when you go, I am sceptical but it sounds good.  RIP Zoony

Oh, what a shock!
Our first, and closest friend, in our early days on PF.

Thank you, Michael. Rest easy.

That's one hell of a shock. I'm so glad you were able to keep in touch a bit Scrumpy. RIP old friend.

GrannyMac

Thanks indeed scrumpy, for keeping in touch on our behalf. Zoony was someone special, on this and the other forum. He'll be missed.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Oh no, someone I really learned to enjoy. His wit, experience and expression of the same is a quality my life is now deprived of. I exchanged with him regularly via Email and never missed an opportunity to point out his lack of the finer point or even 'cover' point in our messaging over Cricket! Always polite, but sarcastically responsive he was also a sincere and valued source of opinion when I was deciding my move to the USA, a place he had great experience over. I'd hoped to invite him later this year in 'The Fall'. He was a valued supporter in my endeavours here too, which we discussed in detail.

Of course Mike Rolls was the other corner of our Cricket triangle and will be greatly shocked as we all are.

God bless you my dear old chap Zoony, I hope we meet up some day, look out for the pal you never met. The one with a troop of animals behind him!

there must be folk still on PF but not here who knew Zoony as a contributor.
Scrumpy - do think it would be appropriate to let them know?

I wondered about that yesterday Mike, but decided to wait and see what Scrumpy did first. Yes, there are several who knew him over there.
