General Discussion / Re: What's Happening in Irelan...

Quote from: muddy on May 21, 2024, 11:11:51 PMNot surprisingly the President of Ireland has sent a message of condolence to the Iranian regime on the death of the their murdering President speaking on behalf of the people of Ireland .

He follows in the proud tradition of De Lavera and William Joyce .

I have known good friends who are (southern) Irish, but the impression I get of the Irish, or at least their leaders, is that they are as anti-British as ever.
Is it because they want N.I. as part of their territory?
Do they see us as fools because we are happy to let anyone in their country (especially the Pikey brigade) come here and get away with criminal activity that our police are too afraid to deal with?

It also annoys me that they are not members of NATO and don't bother to maintain their own armed forces, simply because they can hide behind us.

It could have been a disaster. I took a flyer on BUDDY with only the U Y and unused letters to go on. Looking at it again I think GROUT was the biggest gamble but even if it was wrong it gave me 3 common unused letters. Could have been DROUT but they've used GROUT before.

Both Wishy-Washy and Flip-Flop are neither use nor ornament.  Yet it seems that most people seem to think their only options are those two 'main parties'.

I have a feeling that what has happened now for 100 years will continue in the future.  Back and forth, each taking turns.
Nevertheless, I am resolved to vote for Reform.

Quote from: klondike on Today at 12:54:23 PMAh that reminds me of happy days when our neighbours were a couple of the same age as us. We used one car for shopping for both couples. The ladies toured the local Sainsbury (iirc) while their husbands frequented the local hostelry nearby.
It should be a law. 😂

Rumour has it his kids wanted a summer break in Disney World and this was the only way he could manage that.
