I've been remiss

I've mostly been sticking to Amazon Prime for my viewing recently. Working from recommendations here I came to the end of Bosch then Justified but before moving on to Wheel ot Time or Grimm (a download) I checked out my notes on things to look out for and Zoony's Video Emporium has again come up trumps.

Probably old hat to many here as I have been remiss in keeping track but complete sets of the following are now available..

Vera season 11 now completed (I started on season 9 last night to celebrate)
1883 season 1
Last Kingdom season 5
Secrets.Of.The.Salisbury.Poisonings.2021 (I had seen the 2020 multi part one)

Where to start? I'll probably go for Salisbury as it's short and gives me a chance to mentally demonise Putin further.

Any further recommendations gratefully received as all have  been pretty good so far.

i think 1883 is the prequel to Yellowsone and so far is only one season, i am stilll waiting for the next season of Yellowstone, i really enjoyed both...
i will be taking my 'stick' east with me, but the first month the internet might not be good enough, so i might miss Tyson Furys fight, but i will catch-up with it on You-tube....
i started a 'new. one on netflix... Glitch... about bodies climbing out of their graves...lol... i have only watched the first two of i dont know how many....

klondike

Yeah I think somebody mentioned Yellowstone. As the price is right I'll grab those too while I'm about it.
IMDB for 1883 - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13991232/

OK that's 4 seasons of Yellowstone downloaded now.

We only have 'Ordinary' TV. I watched and read all of the Last Kingdom, really enjoyed it. Now I hear the new series is to be on Netflix.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

My daughter is jumping up n down just now as she was watching Outlander on Prime (I think) the new series has been renewed to another place that you have to pay for and she says she's not made of f***ing money and refuses to pay for another one. I just wait till it comes onto one of the channel fours to see it, even thought it's well behind.  But I could do a Zoony and download it to catch up.

Quote from: GrannyMac on March 30, 2022, 12:00:02 PMI watched and read all of the Last Kingdom,
Bernard Cornwell wrote quite a few other historic warrior stories from Agincourt to the Sharpe stories from the Peninsular war through to Waterloo. Sharpe was also a television series.

Michael Rolls

Brilliant writer for my money
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

I may give them all another listening after I've watched season 5. I downloaded Robert Ludlum's Bourne series but although I enjoyed the films the books are not my type. Currently listening to some Frederick Forsyth books but oddly I preferred to read those over listening to them.

I'll give her a precis if she likes  ..

Hmmm. I think I'll have to start Last Kingdom at season 1 again. Too many familiar faces that I only vaguely remember and ¾ of them called Ethel something or other doesn't help.

I liked episode 1 of 1883 so that will get watched first.

zoony

That's the trouble with the historical record of "England" at that time. Too many Ethels.. I'm okay as soon as Utred gives me the preamble.

I'm lost with what is going on with the leader in York and his brother. They seem to me to have appeared in the tale from nowhere and apart from it being pretty obvious that the brother is a wrong-un I have no clue what it is all about. Maybe I still won't if I start at the very beginning but OTOH my memory is bad enough to have forgotten something.
