Post by: Scrumpy on August 28, 2022, 11:17:33 AM

.. in the heatwave.. !!
I had one when I was out yesterday.. Roast turkey.. yorkshire pudding.. and all the trimmings..
A young family .. children around 8 and 9 were excited to have a roast dinner too..
Those at my table had salad.. quiche...
They couldn't take their eyes from my roast.. my daughter was envious..

I can eat a roast in all weathers..

I did a roast meal last week..
I had a pork chop.. 3 roast potatoes.. carrots.. runner beans.. one Yorkshire pudding.. and half a cup of knocked up gravy..
It didn't taste the same as sitting down with others ...

Some expert was saying today that fuel will soon cost £5 to cook a roast dinner!

I was sitting in the jacuzzi chatting after my swim, and a lady was saying they had dinner out last evening. She had roast beef and veg/potatoes, cost her just under £20 for it. Husband was about the same for a gammon steak and pineapple with veg/potatoes.

The roast dinner I had the other day cost 15 pounds.. That wasn't too bad.. They usually cost around the 20 pound mark..  Everything else is extra..

Over the years I've made hundreds of "Sunday dinners " which everyone enjoyed, but for me the gravy was never as nice as my Mum's gravy.
