McCann libel claim through ECHR

I doubt many other than Phil will even known this was a thing. The Portugese dectective who investigated the case concluded that Madeleine died accidentally in the hotel room and the McCanns covered this up by claiming she was abducted.

This didn't go down well and he was hounded out of his job.
He wrote a book on the topic.
The Mccanns sued for libel.
They lost the case on appeal after initially winning.
They subsequently took this to the ECHR.
The outcome is reported below

Meanwhile the krauts are trying to finger a known perv who was apparently within range of about the only cell tower in a 5 mile radius doubtless based on some coack and bull story from another perv looking to get a reduced sentence. Things have gone very quiet on that despite an arrest apparently being imminent at least a year ago.

SFAIK we are still paying for a team of detectives to investigate this case but it supposedly being closed soon.

The McCann's reputation was damaged by the known facts about the case, which appear in the PJ official files for anyone who wants to read them.

Of course, it's far easier for people to sit on their arses & form an opinion based on gutter press sensational reporting & the fact that they were both doctors.

As I've posted on another thread about the case, Mark Thomas-Williams, a supporter of the McCanns, has done a comprehensive investigation into Christian B, the guy that the German police are trying to frame, & in his opinion Christian B is not the person responsible.
