i think the younger generation is being kept inside a lot more than we were, we got chucked out to give mum some peace and quiet and some room to cook and clean..
but today we are more inclined to keep our children closer more secure, and so the more physical games of our childhood, team games have slipped into obscurity... think back to the sounds and activities of our childhood, i mentioned before folk whistling, how many had a harmonica, now they have keyboards... remember the annoying sound of someone kicking a tin-can?, we had football matches wi a tin can [ouch, they really smarted when they hit you shins] todays kids are smarter, 90% of their games are coaching their intellect where ours were muscle building and also healthier.... in winter we poured water down the center of the roads and as it froze we had a slide...happy days

We used to do that at school, there was a slight brae near the gates and we all would make a hell of a slide and would come early so as we could get a good while on it. BUT, the damn Jannie used to wait till we were in class then go and put a salt n sand mix on it, then stand and grin at our complaints at break. Gawd how we loathed that man. :nooo:
