Title: Electric Planes
Post by: Alex on September 16, 2022, 06:14:40 PM
Air Canada Air is to buy electric planes for the first time, with the acquisition of 30 battery-powered regional aircraft from Heart Aerospace.   Well would you get on an electric plane ?

I can only assume that they will be for local flights.  I can't imagine a battery powered aeroplane having enough power to cross the Atlantic.
No, there's no way I would enter an electric aeroplane, even for a short hop.

No, I would not.. I don't trust batteries.. My front doorbell conked out yesterday and It's batteries had only just been replaced.. and they were good batteries.. not the ones from the PoundShop..

I wouldn't step foot on an electric plane even if it was a free flight

I wouldn't get on a plane any more, electric or normal, although I flew about twelve times on holiday it was hell every time and I don't intend to put myself through that ever again.

As for electric planes no way!  If we were meant to fly we'd have wings.

I have no intention of ever flying again - cattle trucks with wings, and that's after being herded on the ground like cattle. As I won't be going abroad ever again - no problem

I've never flown but I would definitely have a trip if these ever enter service in the UK.

I very much doubt that the scheduled flight journey times will be longer than around 60% / 70% of the battery capacity for the short-haul flights for which they're intended.

The aviation industry is the most heavily regulated form of transport of them all. If they go into service they will be safe.

Probably very safe as we probably won't be able to produce the electricity to charge them up by the time they get introduced. Still they can use diesel generators for that I suppose

Wouldn't surprise me!
