Title: writing letters,
Post by: alfred on June 29, 2022, 09:38:04 AM
When watching programme such as long lost families, its noticeable that where a letter is passed from the found person to the person doing the searching iv noticed that the letter is not always written but very neatly printed , nothing wrong with that and of course easily readable where as where a letter has been hand written some times its hard to read what the words are as some words are scribbled or almost joined onto the letter in front of it ,

Q; so when writing a letter should it be printed rather than written , what are your views when it comes to writing  letter, which do you prefer,

with the slight tremor I have, a hand-written letter would look like the wanderings of a drunken, demented spider after walking though a pot of ink, so apart from the salutation and signature, all my letters are typed on the computer, although I do try to personalise them by using an attractive type face, Monotype Corsiva - except that's just its name, not how it looks - did try copying it in, but didn't work.

I hated writing letters as my fingers always got sore quite quickly, and the writing got worse and worse, that used to get me in trouble at school in English.
These days I prefer to text or make a phone call, online groups I type a PM.

I send e-mails now too, my letter writing days are long gone.  I did Calligraphy many years ago, I used to love that, but like Mike my hands aren't as steady as they used to be.

Email. But I do send an odd note, on a card, hand written.

when dealing with my late sister's estate I sent or received something like 200 letters and 1,000 e-mails - and I started off thinking that it would be easy!
