This is very welcome news for us, we go through hell with the fireworks on the 5th. It's bad enough trying to keep a big dog like Dageus calm but try it with Clydesdale horses. [1050]  :1040: I'm not even allowed to enter the stables during that evening, Dunc has two mates that know the horses over to help.

But the Scottish Conservatives warned it would lead to stockpiling and create a "black market".

I'm not sure that isn't correct. In this neighbourhood you can get fireworks going off at any time and I doubt they buy them at times when they aren't easily available they just buy them and save them.

It isn't the sale that needs stopping it's the use but our police appear to be far too busy stamping out misgendering on Twitter and sorting out what to wear at the next Pride march to do anything useful like that.

Yes I read that too, the police need to get out of their warm cars and sort out anyone letting the things off when/where they shouldn't be. :nooo:
As for that Pasty Faced Pillock Tory leader Ross, If the SNP looked out the window and mentioned it was raining, he'd say No it isn't. :nooo:

Let's hope the government in Westminster follow Scotland's lead.  Geez not often you get to say that is it ?

Doesn't affect me personally, but I welcome anything that reduces the use of these wretched things. When Fleur was little the village display was in the next field but one and she was frightened by it. Now, thankfully, it has taken place two miles away for a good few years, and Fleur wasn't bothered

I read last year that some countries are now using silent or very much reduced noise fireworks. I would be happy with that, no need to make the ground shake with every one going off.

With all this talk about people struggling to keep their heads above water I can't but help wonder where all the money comes from to buy them..  They cost a bomb..
Good old sparklers for me..

I see what you did there

He may be a pasty-faced pillock but he's 100% correct in his assessment.

The legislation will have no impact on firework usage as most of them round us, are let off at random times & never in enough quantities to be traced.

Don't get your hopes up. It's the bang that launches the pretty bits up into to sky. without the bang all you have is those boring things that have coloured and/or sparkly flames that remain ground based or rockets and most of those bang when they get to the top of their flight to throw out their "stars". Any firework worth watching is going to make a bang.

Hmmmm, Pity.
