I think that I can truthfully say that I have never, based a purchasing decision on a TV advert. Anyone else?

It's insidious brainwashing. See two different products and many will pick the one they've heard of. Guess where they heard of it.

Millions possibly billions get spent on advertising. If it didn't work that wouldn't happen.

When I worked for an advertising agency, we were told the client is wasting half his money on advertising. Trouble is no one knows which half.

I listen to friends .. and family.. I don't take much notice of tv ads.. 
I search products out using Google.
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I can't say that myself. The last product I bought because I saw a TV advert was a hard boiled egg cooker for the microwave.
