Plenty do die. Not sure of the timescale but I heard a Dutch politician on Farage say that 27,000 have died crossing the Med.

That's a hell of a lot of deaths. But they say they know the risks. Soooo on their own heads be it.

Only a few short years ago, there was never any of this 'invasion by dinghy', either across the Med or the Channel.

What caused this apparently sudden mass illegal immigration, I wonder?

Was it the invitation by 'Mutti' in Germany to all and sundry to come to her country - and the EU?

Partly that but mostly the middle east was stirred up by the Bush/Blair illegal war leading to the Arab Spring and the collapse of governments.
