You've clipped my mirror scam

 Just saw this when I followed Mac's pervs link and thought it was worth a mention...

Scam artists fake  you clipping their wing mirror, get you to stop and demand compensation. More details in story.

I fitted a dashcam some years back when there was a story on scammers pretending to let you drive right across their path, ramming you and claiming whiplash injury. I think a dashcam would show the mirror was damaged before you passed.

I completely agree, and have always had dashcams fore and aft.

Only once have they come into their own, many years ago, when the woman (yes!) in the car in front slammed on the brakes for absolutely no reason and caused (or at least contributed) to my running into her.  My insurance company looked at the recording and (possibly also looked at the woman's track record!) and came down on my side.
