Thanks Guys I'll keep you updated. The vet had a chat and it's not eased my fears any, he gave me a double warning, first about Dageus's age and 2nd about where the lump thing is.

That's Dageus home, very wobbly and Himself had to lift him into the car as there was no way he could get in himself. He's flat out on the couch at the moment. He's back to see the vet on Friday afternoon and then again a week later.
So glad and relieved he's ok and home.

We all are & that's good news. 

Good to hear Dageus is safely home.  I hope he makes a quick recovery.

Thankyou, it's such a relief. I'll get a photo of his eye tomorrow.

I'm sure you already know that any dog big or small is way off their best after an anaesthetic. He'll recover now so lets hope the operation achieved its aims which I imagine it will have and the check is on how well  it is healing.

So pleased to hear Dageus is now back home again, Raven.

He's bound to feel groggy for a day or two, and probably a bit sore too,  but let's hope he's over the worst now, and it is mostly a matter of nursing and aftercare.

Hello everyone - am thinking of building an Ark - yes, it is raining again.  Was soaked just putting out the wheelie bin.  Yesterday made loads of plans about what to do with today - woke up in 'bone idle' mode - so will have to have to invoke the 3  'T's - tea, toast, and think!.

Raven - how is the lovely Dageus this morning?

Morning All, Dageus is a good bit brighter this morning and very hungry. He's wearing his cone and none to chuffed about it BUT, I'm taking no chances.
The eye looks a bit gross but it's been shaved all round and it's leaking a bit with the drops he has to have in it.
He's back at the vet tomorrow for a check.

Aw  ...   Bless him.  They, pets, really don't like the cones, do they?
