Still getting used to my new routine as I no longer have to sort out the little un's medications or let her out for her early morning wee & her last wee at 22:30.

I'm still up by 06:00 as that's the cats breakfast routine & I still do the school run morning & afternoon.

Apart from that I've bitten the bullet & abandoned my Windows 7 laptop in favour my new HP desktop running Windows 11.

I've got the laptop & the desktop both linked to the two routers & the monitor so I can swap between the two of them with a couple of button presses as I have 7 years of documents still on the laptop.

The best part of Windows 11 is the ability to link my smartphone to the desktop so text messages & calls come through to the PC & I'm getting a headset today so that I can answer calls from the PC.

Morning All, Really cold here this morning heavy frost but I went to the pool and took my time on the roads, glad I went as it was quiet and I got a good swim. Coffee and toast then off with The Hairy One, but not before I put the ice grips on my boots. Don't need a repeat of last winter.

Same here, the hardest part is still going downstairs in the morning & coming home with no enthusiastic greeting.

The cats will come up to me & want a bit of fuss but it's not the same.

after Veronica died Fleur did her level best never to let me out of her sight. The fire room has French doors -floor to dado level glass. If I had to drive somewhere without her - shopping or whatever, she would sit at the window and watch the car disappear. She would still be sitting there when I returned, but the moment she saw the car she would dash to the back door to greet me. Sometimes, I forget and still look for her at the window.

I've got the PC headset & it's really good as the phone link mirrors my smartphone on my PC so I'll never miss any phone calls or especially text messages if I don't hear the phone beep.

It also sends the Alexa messages to the PC.

Morning, Cloudy but dry here with storm winds howling in off the water.  BUT, there's no ice and I'm happy about that. Just back from a dander along the beach with Dageus, was going to the forest for a bit of shelter but Himself said not to go there as it's tree falling weather.
Over to Wick later for the monthly girls pub lunch and catch up gossip.

Good morning .. Man coming today to fix electric light that is not working... He is doing it for free.. help the aged and all that.. 
Or it could be because he is my son-in-law..

The test is whether or not he fixes any other elderly ladies lights for free.
