This afternoon I took the plunge & ordered a 500 Mb FTTP install which Openreach are doing on the 27th October.

We're changing from Plusnet to BT as Plusnet don't provide a VOIP facility but BT do.

We could have stuck with Plusnet & got a 3rd party VOIP provider but we'd rather have it all from the same one.

This evening I've just had my pneumonia jab which, like the shingles jab, is a one-off vaccination.

Today, I circumnavigated Holy Island by foot.  My friends have gone out for a romantic meal, so I called the rental house owner round as the tumble drier isn't working.  Still not working but he's a nice fella and we had a lovely chat.

Why is it when you order from Amazon and they deliver it's usually on time but if they use Hermes/Evri they can't even get the day right. I have something supposed to be arriving today and it isn't even out for delivery.

Been to the pool and am heading off out with the hairy one as soon as I finish my coffee.
Very slowly getting through the pruning and already had the first big sweep up of the leaves. It's the ferns turn this afternoon, I have 4 big ones and they need the dead fonds removed and cut back to the base. About 30 minutes work. I find it so annoying that I can only do a wee bit at a time now.  That fall back in January has changed my life beyond belief. :worried:

Take it easy Raven, you don't want another fall.

I think Raven gets things about right. Wary of falling again but not letting that stop her. The fear of a fall is because the damage can stop you doing what you want. If you stop anyway then the fear alone has beaten you.

I certainly don't, I am worried about it over the winter but I already have ice grips on my winter hiking boots, not worn yet but ready for use.

Yes that's exactly what both my daughter and Himself said. I know I can't sit sit around all the time, it's just not in my nature to do that. I try to carry on with my usual jobs but often have to do things differently from what I used to do. Takes a lot longer as I take my time and do a bit in the garden each day the weather let's me. I still have several big shrubs to prune back and another sweep up of leaves. Hope to have it all done next week.
The house jobs are not really a problem just the outside work I'm wary about. I can still drive no problem at all, but sometimes it can be a bit hard getting into the car, it's high and sometimes I'm a bit wobbly. I still walk Dagues, do the messages, and can ride the Clyde's, but need a bit of help mounting.

What was the pool temp like Raven?  Have they put it up?

Yes actually, just a degree or two but the bone chilling ice has gone from it. It's still colder than it used to be but it's bearable now and I do warm up after ten or so lengths. Another bonus with the temperature is the jacuzzis are hot again and it's lovely to just wallow in one after my swim.

I've had my letter after my hospital appointment on Wednesday. Saw the ortho consultant, looks like I'm having a new knee, the arthritis is pretty severe.  Quite a waiting list, hopefully by next summer when I can recuperate in better weather.  Good news is my application for a blue badge has been approved.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

That's good news GM, and hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your op. :upvote:
