Good news about the cancer.  Lord only knows what waiting times are for the other surgery.  I last saw someone nearly a year ago about my achalasia, which led to scans and other tests which were completed around Sept.  Am still waiting to see the doctor again, and fire off an email every other month to make sure I'm still in the system.

Thanks all. The news was as good as we could hope for.  Out for lunch with a couple of friends later, just hope the rain stays away.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Audiology 9:30. First day of young doctors strike. I'm assuming or maybe just hoping that audiologists are separate and it isn't cancelled. No reminder telling me that missed appointments cost the National Horror Show £160 but they can just blanket cancel them with no notice as happened to Mac.

I was going to use the ladders but I'm trying to avoid doing anything that could land me in hospital, but of course I have no control over a medical episode so fingers crossed.

You need to be pretty fit to survive our local hospital if you are old. My neighbour is back in again. I'm surprised she has lasted. Must be very good family support. Her son was telling me that they were urging her to sign a DNR and she told them to go whistle.

Ours has plenty of useful signs too

The problem is that the hospital can decide to put a DNR on her medical notes, as they did with my wife.

From what I've seen and what several others have told me ours put CBA notices on lots of patients notes. The level of nursing care offered is abysmal.

Do you mean 'can't be arsed' or 'cost-benefit analysis'? Lol

My money's on the first one. 😏

Careful with those ladders Phil.  One of the main causes of older gentlemen arriving in A&E according to my daughter who was often called to sort out pain relief for broken ribs (or worse).

I'd written down a spice to get for a recipe I want to do, it was called Panch Puran and I found it yesterday in an Asian supermarket.  Great,  [1150]  but do you think I can find the recipe ?  Not important I know, but this memory malarkey (or lack of it) drives me potty sometimes.

Not much on today, rain is forecast so I suppose I should do a bit of housework.......
Easy on the ladders Phil !!!!!!
