That's pretty awful. Apart from the wasted trip it's another week not knowing. I thought it was bad when my results appointment was 3 hours late and I caught some bug or other waiting but better that than being sent home to wait another week.

A letter with a new appointment arrived after we got home. It doesn't mention today's being cancelled. Poor communication, and with post being as it is, I think a phone call would have been in order. I'm more annoyed than OH.

They use texts extensively around here. Always with warnings that a missed appointment costs the NHS £160. Considering they can be running late even with early morning appointments I think they always overbook and a missed appointment just brings them slightly nearer to on time.

Parking at my local hospital is abysmal so I usually bus into town and walk the half mile or so. I have just got an appointment with audiology who I want to swap to from the one in the next town. It's at 9:30 so too early for the bus pass. I've just checked and walking all the way is half an hour so I'll be doing that. Not sure I'll bother to bus back. Hopefully that won't be affected by the upcoming doctors strike as it's on the 13th which is the first day they'll be out.

The bus that took us to that hospital has been withdrawn from our area, so we drive part of the way then pick it up. Parking there is practically impossible.  It wasn't all wasted time today though, popped into audiology and picked up some hearing aid batteries. 😏

No Wimbledon thread?
Andy's out 😪

I know! 😢 Not bad for a man with a replacement hip though.

He looked so dejected as he walked off 😪

From memory he always looks dejected. Even when he wins.

Dour Scot, with a dry wit.  😊

Off to Lidl and the butchers in a mo. I like getting out early.  A couple of hours in the charity shop later, then I think we're in for a thunderstorm.  Feet up with my book then. Retirement is great!

we are forecast to have thundery showers around midday - at the moment clear blue skies and much warmer than of late - switched the fan on for the time for a fortnight or more

Poor you, we have wall to wall sun.

Well, haven't hear any thunder, but the rain started chucking it down half an hour ago, and still going strong. The difference between 1100and 1130 was incredible
