Found where the extra 3lb came from - scales not properly seated. I have them on a large wall tile on carpet and one leg wasn't on it properly. So - having lost 3lb I think I deserve cake

Sunny day again but that Caithness wind is back so it's keeping things cooler. Been to the pool and Tesco, walked Dageus and now home for the rest of the day. Nothing planned see what needs doing and will maybe do it....maybe not.
Back in the saddle last evening on Dunnet Beach.

Love the pic.. Horses , as big as those, can clear a beach in the blink of an eye.. Handsome creatures..

I was outside at 8o'clock this morning .. Painted a repaired fence panel.. and did a bit of weeding.. It is getting so hot already.. Heatwave over the weekend..  :boo: .. I don't do heat..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Hope all goes well for your husband GM, a worrying time for you both.

Raven, for goodness sake be careful riding your horse, you have done so well coming back from that terrible injury, take care.

It's walking only, no cantering or full gallops, never on my own either. I feel ok when seated, it's the getting on n off that worries me, but I needed help before my accident, Dunc says most of my worries are in my mind, daughter said that as well, I suppose they're correct as I'm so bloody cautious with everything now.
Bonnie seems to know something has changed too, she's been so gentle towards me since I came back up North.

I've bought a new smart alarm system & the only thing left to do is to replace the external sounder.

However, it's at the top front apex of the house, well up a three extension ladder & for the very first time I'm debating whether or not I should be going up it.

I suppose I could leave the old one in place & mount the new one lower down but the wiring's already there.

I may leave it until I can get someone to foot the ladder as it's a bit bouncy.

I never thought I'd ever think twice about shimmying up a ladder, but here I am.

You need to ask yourself several questions.

The first is Do I feel lucky
The next is Do I bounce
The rest after that are pretty irrelevant.

I still do some ladder work but only up to guttering level. Things do tend to get bouncy on a ladder higher than that and I'm pretty sure I don't bounce. Maybe next year I'll give up ladder work entirely.

Not a good idea at all Phil, :wtf: I know myself since my stupid fall back in January that life, and the way we have to live it changes as we get older. So keep your feet on the ground and send someone else up that ladder.:waiting:

My son won't go up it. Lol.

I'll double check that each extension of the ladder is equal in the number of rungs as that can cause ladder bounce if one section's near the top of it's travel.

It took me a few days to change electric bulb .. I was on a stool.. I would step on the stool.. reach up .. feel all wonky.. step down .. then try again the next day..
Couldn't be arsed to get the step ladder out of the shed..
Today I have Lottie and Bertie..

I've ordered a set of these https://tinyurl.com/ycyhwbm2 & a set of these https://tinyurl.com/37j7nzav

I only thing that concerned me about the ladder being bouncy was the possibility of the feet slipping.

So between the two devices & the ladder will be as safe as it's possible to make a ladder.

As it'll be the first time I use them I might get someone to stand at the bottom to make sure it's ok.

one of the things that really gets to me is how unsteady I am nowadays - standing on a stool to change a light bulb is now a no-no.
