The forecasters have changed their minds - apart from very light covering yesterday afternoon - about three snowflakes deep - it looks as though, although it will stay cold, we should miss the snow altogether.

Thick snow here.  We stocked up on food on Wednesday and went for a pub meal last night so that's us staying home until the snow goes.  Our cat has been out in the snow for the first time.  He didn't like it!

It will be snowing all morning here but as the temperature is above freezing it's mostly just going to melt.

Back to the doctors surgery to get a blood sample request form.. They didn't give it to me on Tues.. Then to the hospital to get a blood test.. Because my surgery do not do anymore..
What the hell DO they bloody do.. !!!
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

The surgery I was with used to register hospital blood test request with the hospital electronically and I'm guessing that the new one would too. Both offer in surgery blood tests too - it's about the only times I've been in mine post pandemic. Was yours filled in with a quill pen?

Michael Rolls

well, I phoned the surgery at 0800. Engaged. Phoned again, engaged. Phoned again - connected. Appointment at 0945. Whole process only took a tad over 5 minutes - perhaps I was lucky. First time that I have needed to see a GP in years - back then you phoned any time, but very unlikely to get a same day appointment - not I need it to be today, but I'm not complaining

Our surgery don't do blood tests any more.  I don't know why.

One of our neighbours works there and she said they have been trying hard to employ new receptionists but nobody wants the job.  Surprise, surprise!

I'm getting ready to leave the spa I've been at since Wednesday.  Lovely break with my daughter and daughter in law. Its near Leicester, thankfully the snow is thawing! Motorways should be fine 🤞

Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

The receptionist at the surgery told me that it is difficult to find a nurse to take blood samples.. They hope to fill the position in about 4 weeks..
I try to avoid hospitals because of covid.. So many people pick it up in hospitals..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Yep. I got some unidentified lurgy that hung around a month or more and my my neighbour caught covid. They should keep all the poorly people out of hospitals

The last time I contacted a GP was in December 2018 when I wanted to renew a Ventolin inhaler that I'd had since 1997 but had hardly ever used.

The 2018 one, which I'd hardly ever used, expired in Oct 2020 but as I'd been bunged up for a few days I thought I'd better renew it in case I needed it.

I phoned the surgery at 08:00, got straight through & was called back by one of the nurse practitioners who arranged for a GP to write a prescription which I collected that afternoon.

So I had a good service from the surgery.

However, I realised I didn't need a new Ventolin inhaler as I could have popped round to the gays who live just round the corner of our Close as the Ventolin instructions said that a couple of puffs will open the airways.

Morning, Wall to wall blue sky and sun again this morning, Very cold though as the cars over the road are thick with frost.
David is coming around 11am to take Dageus out for his walk, and if the frosts gone I may drive us across to the Kinoull Forest, and while they hoof around there I'm going to the Rangers Station, and will have a seat in the sun waiting for them. That will be everyone exercised including the car.
Enjoy your W/E.

woke to an inch of snow under heavy cloud, whereas the forecast was sunny and dry
