Thanks Klondike  Yes walking is a massive deal at the moment. I do my lifting and stretching exercises with the help of a leg lifter from the chair or the bed. Yes they hurt but I'm doing them little and often, it's getting easier slowly. But, as soon as my full weight is on it when I stand, that's a very different story, the pain is terrible so it's short walks a few times a day. Regan says she's seeing a difference in things, but so far I'm not.

I've just had to re-fix the blind in my bedroom as the mounting bracket at one side pulled out of the plasterboard.

This is when a new-build house gets a bit tricky as there is just a void in the corners of the window opening which makes fixing wall plugs a bugger of a job.

I ended up having to put the mounting bracket in the opposite way round which makes it look odd, but at least the wall plugs have gone into two new holes.

Anyway, for some time I've been thinking about getting a motorised BlocOut blind with the Alexa function.

I had assumed you'd have a cast and crutches but your pics made it clear that wouldn't be the case. I'm not surprised it hurts as you must be putting some weight on where the screws go into the bone and will be until new bone grows around the injuries. On the bright side you will have a lot less muscle wastage that way. You already know the downside but hopefully that will pass quite soon.

New build, old build I've come across snags with wall plugs on all sorts of walls at times.

That's why I'll get a Surface Fit BlockOut blind fitted.

It comes as a kit & fixes to the outside of the window opening. The blind cassette fixes above the top of the window opening & the weight is also supported by the siderails.

I just have black out curtains. There is some leakage around the edges but as the window is west facing it isn't a big issue. I wouldn't bother with smart home controls for it. I need the exercise.

Ah, but I don't have any other hobbies that I spend any money on. Lol

I have bodged a similar system, using large white electrical trunking & water pipe insulation tubing & the blind goes up & down inside that at each side.

It keeps virtually all the light from the window out of the room but it does put a strain on the mounting brackets which is why one of them eventually pulled away from the plasterboard after three years.

Actually my bodge job doesn't look too bad & it's 99% effective, but I still think I'll get the BlocOut blind that keeps 100% of the light from the window out.

And I'll get the Alexa-controlled motorised version.

But both my homemade one & the BlocOut blind stop a lot of heat from getting to the window itself.

Morning, Bright sunshine here it looks lovely through the window, but Regan assures me it really cold out. She is meeting her pal Sam up at Dobbies for coffee at 11am I've asked her to bring me back one of their tuna and cucumber baguettes for my lunch if possible.
I think it does her good to get away out from here for a couple of hours every day and it does me good to be on my own too.
Am trying to go for wee walks more often but it's really blooming sore when my full weight is on my knee, but I know I must keep it moving, slowly but surely I'm making progress but pain is the big barrier.

Yes. Sadly little choice either as I suspect  "use it or lose it" may well apply. Hope it starts to improve soon.

At the moment it's get up out of the fireside chair, cross the room, turn up the hall to the toilet and use that, then back down the hall, turn into the dining room and cross to the far side, about turn and back to the living room chair. It exhausts me and it's bloody sore, but I am recovering bit quicker.
Another one is through to the bed and sit on the edge, then stand up and sit down a few times, then back to the living room and the chair. It doesn't sound much doing that a few times a day but it keeps me moving and very slowly it's getting a wee bit easier..
Next week she's talking about yanking my Cubii out of the cupboard and getting my legs exercising on that.......If I'm able.

Are you using any support such as a zimmer or stick? It seems to me that would still give exercise while easing back on pressure on as yet unhealed wounds.
