Sheila

I hope you and your husband are feeling better today GM.  We saw family last weekend so are just having a quiet day today.  People all around us are ill so we are avoiding everyone.  Our GP surgery is awful although one of the GPs was on BBC news the other day, saying how hard they are working  - I don't think so!  The nurses seem to be working but not the doctors.  If you go in, there are no patients except in the nurses area.

Jacqueline

I raise a glass to you all and wish everyone a merry Christmas, hope you all have a lovely day whatever you are doing. Get well soon Granny and Grandad Mac, lets hope 2023 is a good year for us all.

I have not seen a GP in the flesh since before the pandemic. I have seen two, but not from my practice, on Livi (a video consultation service). The whole idea of having a GP you can actually visit seems to have become a thing of the past. Yet another facet of the NHS which simply no longer works.

Has anybody here parked their backside in a chair in the same room as an NHS GP recently? It seems that the surgeries are only homes to nurses lately. Maybe all the GPs are moonlighting on Livi?

Thanks for the good wishes, on the mend we hope.

Klondike, my OH saw a GP last week, the day I rang up!  There were several others in the waiting room. I was seen a few weeks ago, when I decided to try and get a diagnosis for my knee. I'm-waiting for an MRI now.

Perhaps they have started leaving their hermitages now then. It's certainly about time that they did. Once I've ordered my repeats I'll fill in the form to swap GP. Maybe the next one will be better.

Hope you can get your knee sorted.

Alex

Morning all, well that went quickly !   Hope everyone had a nice Christmas, however you spent it  :upvote:

Opposite here Mike,24°F but set to rise 14°, to 38°F in 48 hours! In areas with serious snow accumulation (drifting) flash flooding is being forecast and serious floods in parts of NYS. Fortunately we only have a couple of inches here. Walked the horse yesterday with the three dogs wrapped in their pannier bags, securely on top - very funny to watch, Albert assumed control. I wasn't too sure about Dixie (horse) getting his footings securely in the woods, as he couldn't see his path beneath the deeper and untouched snow. We had some accompaniment and Annie got this rather lovely pic of one of our residents.

My little Dog - A heartbeat at my feet ...

Wet here, ventured out for some milk and fat balls for the birds.  Daughter and family brought presents from son and his family, they stayed for tea and mince pies.   Nice interlude. Now sitting cosy in my new fleecy wrap, having a small port.  Can't complain.

I wrote too soon. Shortly after posting, the snow resumed for another three hours, but still only about 4 inches if that. Today's forecast is much milder - up to 6C, so the snow will probably melt with possible flooding, although thanks to the lie of the land, we have never flooded 🤞🤞🤞
Love the squirrel picture!

Lovely photo of the squirrel  :upvote:
Really cold here, I'm sitting with an electric throw over me.

Soon be off for my next inspection at the hospital. I'm told they don't use a box brownie although at times it feels like they do.

The clear out muck has incomplete instructions. As I mentioned I am recovering from a bug doubtless picked up at the hospital. Following an unfortunate event I checked those instructions carefully and nowhere does it say "don't cough".

GrannyMac

Careful...

I hope all goes well today klondike.
