I have ordered a stiff (metal) yard broom.. Hopefully this will remove most of the (slippery) top layer from my decking..
Going out for a coffee... hooray.. !
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

We walked around the local Designer Village (Alex will know it) yesterday for the first time since Covid started.  I was horrified by the prices.  £80 for a fleece and the zips were puckered!  We didn't buy anything until we reached the M&S outlet which is much better than the nearby proper M&S.

Paul was wondering if they sold razor blades but I made use of him to hold my bag, coat etc.  Eventually he wandered outside and sat on a bench with another man and they had a good natter.  I bought a very useful fleece for £12.50 and it is better than the £80 one with the posh label, a jumper and warm jim jams.

well done. I had a Barbour for many years - probably over 20, which finally gave up the ghost about a year ago. A genuine replacement would have been over £200 - I found a perfectly adequate alternative for £45. I don't mind spending less!

Have you tried neat bleach? That's still pretty cheap. I use it to kill the stuff that grows between the block paving and a side benefit is that it removes any algae too.

I would never have decking....Ever. My sister who lived round the corner from me in Perth had a big deck built, it looked lovely but I almost broke my leg/neck on the damn thing about 15 years ago.  I too had been thinking of building a decking patio, but after that I didn't, and had a slab one done instead.

It would take a fair bit to do all my decking.. and bleach is a slimy substance..
What my decking needs is a good scrub with wire wool.. That is why I am hoping the stiff wire yard broom will do the trick..

A 2 litre bottle costs 99p (might be £3.99 in Waitrose I suppose). A couple of bottles in a garden sprayer covers quite an area. For the weeds I just spray it and leave it. On decking I'd probably hose it off after a while. But I guess if you think you need the exercise...

Something strange happened yesterday evening..
An earth shattering bang.. then the heavens opened...
I've been out a couple of times today .. dodged the showers that Alexa said wouldn't arrive until 5pm.. Liar, liar .. your pants are on fire...
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Yippee the sun's out this morning, been for my swim and now got the washing on. Hope to get it on the ropes for a while. Just heading away with Dageus for our walk then over to Wick for the big monthly top up at Tesco there, not taking Dageus as it's too dangerous on the cliff walk to the castle, all the rain weakens the path and I don't want him falling over into the ocean. A man died yesterday at Aberdeen beach trying to save his poor dog, who has not been found yet. 😢

Sad but unfortunately far from unique.
