It's not stopped raining here today, apart from dog walking we've been at home. Out for dinner tonight though.

real mizzy day. Cleaning lady has just left, so I only have a week to get the house back to chaos!

I'm having a 'duvet day'   well a duvet half day.  I went downstairs to make coffee and came back up with my laptop, so here I am - lovely and warm listening to Talk Radio .

Quite a surprise, it's lovely here. Drying up nicely and the suns out, very light breeze too. Just back from a hoof up river with Dageus, it's hard to find the path now with the carpet of leaves on top of it.
Will plutter about outside this afternoon as the sun still has a bit of heat in it, so a bit of pruning and weeding for moi.

all the lights are flickering like mad, which usually presages a power cut - one of things we either weren't going to have (government minister) or not until January/February (head of National Grid).

well, so far, so good. The lights have stopped misbehaving, but just in case there is a thermos full of boiling water, the battery lights are to hand, the camping gas ring is ready for use, as is the gas fire in the small lounge, and I have dressed and had breakfast earlier than usual.

Before Covid my friend and I used to go to the local pub for a pensioners lunch.  Unfortunately she lost her nerve for going out but yesterday we went for our lunch and it was lovely.  We had scampi, chips and peas followed by ice cream or apple crumble and custard for £5.49 each!
It was good quality and well cooked.

I'm trying to work out how Sunak, with the 4th richest man in India as his father-in-law, entered politics in 2015 & became PM 7 years later, unopposed & therefore avoiding being rejected by the Tory membership for a second time.

The working out is very simple, it's making it not sound like loony conspiracy theory that's the hard bit.

I thought it was 2015 he became an MP, which makes it even more puzzling,  for me at least

It didn't take too long.
