I agree, and I think that when items are offered for sale online, the seller should also state which courier company they intend to use.

I usually use Amazon for such things, and they seem to usually deliver very quickly.  I'm not sure whether they always use their own delivery company, though.

Amazon here used to be only their vans. There was a spell of using DPD and Royal Mail but the last thing I got was Amazon again.

In my experience, DPD is a reliable and reasonably quick courier.
Royal Mail, regarding packages, used to be variable but I have found recently that they are quite reliable and also supply expected times of delivery, or do to me anyway.
