Title: Number 10 (nothing to do with parties)
Post by: Michael Rolls on February 05, 2022, 08:50:13 AM
Interesting article in yesterday's paper. Norman Blackwell worked at No. 10 in the Thatcher and Major years. Back then there were fewer than 100 staff, most of whom were secretaries or typists. Apparently the place now has 400 staff. I'm sure government is now four times as efficient..

Same thing happened in Social Services when I worked, the admin staff increased significantly over the years, more and more paperwork although it was all entered on the computer as well.  Did the clients get a better service?  of course not.
