Tasnime Akunjee who is Begum's lawyer is to stand as an independent at the GE in Tower Hamlets.  He cited Labour MP Rushanara Ali's refusal to support a Gaza ceasefire vote in Parliament as a reason for running.   Here we go again, George Galloway Mk II  ?

I reckon all the Muslim effect will do is cushion the scale of the Tory wipeout. I think that's a shame. The only way we'll see a future centre right offering is if the Tories (LibCons) suffer a really crushing defeat.
