I must admit I was thinking that Partygate and the cost of living nightmare to come might see Boris losing his job and so probably the Tories losing the next election as the rest all appear to be total non entities or yesterday's men and women.

What I was forgetting and what the article I'll link to below is saying is that despite Tory problems Labour's core voters in those crucial red wall seats have still not forgiven the party for its betrayal of traditional labour voters who then flipped to become Tory voters in 2019. The council elections results showed nothing to suggest that they have and that things have changed. Picking up seats in the capital is nothing new as Labour have become the party of London and are just consolidating.

As per the title if you have any interest in politics at all, which I'm guessing you must have to be reading this, then https://www.spiked-online.com/2022/05/06/labour-is-as-lost-as-ever/ is well worth a read regardless of whether it brings you hope or despair.

It is no surprise that Labour are gaining  London boroughs .
Over the years the residents are rapidly changing...

Dianne Abbot voiced her opinions  of the beer and Curry (Do).. They were not in favour of Keir Starmer.. At least I don't think they were.. as the woman makes little sense when speaking..
Would she dare to assume that she might have a chance.. A chance !!..
Nah!!
Nobody is that thick surely..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

The so-called Labour success in London is due to the ethnic fabric of London & to the votes of Remoaners, for whom this is the first chance to vote since the Tories implemented Brexit & took us out of the EU.

The Labour performance in the rest of the country is dismally poor for a mid-term local election opposition party.

As a semi-member of Momentum & someone who receives all the correspondence from our local Labour Party, I can only repeat that the grassroots Labour voters wouldn't piss on Starmer if he was on fire.

That's why I don't want Beergate to come to anything & Starmer resigning.
Make every day count, each day is precious.

Labour lost Tower Hamlets to the 'Aspire Party' run by Luftur Rahman.

" The Aspire Party, founded by Lutfur Rahman, gained Tower Hamlets Council from Labour after winning 24 of the 45 seats."

I may have the wrong end of the stick here, but exactly who is the Aspire Party and how were they financed ?

I'm assuming they are Bangladeshis. Doubtless funded by the local community with subs being collected by the community leaders. Possibly at the same time the postal voting forms are collected.
